On Subset Selection Procedures for the Entropy Function Associated with the Binomial Populations.

Abstract

In the paper, the authors propose and study some subset selection procedures for binomial populations in terms of the entropy functions. These procedures are considered for some generalized entropy functions. Some selection procedures to select a subset which contains all populations better (larger entropy) than a standard are discussed. The distribution of the sample entropy range for testing the homogeneity in terms of entropy functions, and an application for the selection problem in terms of the Kullback-Leibler information are discussed. Values of constants that are needed for the subset selection procedure are given.
