Shoulder-Fired Antitank Weapons

Abstract

Antitank weapons such as the RPG-2 and RPG-7, which appeared late in the Second World War, are now among the most commonly used weapons designed to combat armored targets. The purpose weapons is to destroy tanks, self-propelled artillery weapons, armored transportors, armored vehicles and various field type strong barriers and emplacements. The weapons fire powerful armor-penetrating shells, capable of penetrating the armor of any modern tank and destroying its crew, armament, ammunition and equipment. The operation and characteristics of these weapons is discussed briefly.
