NTC Tracking Display,

Abstract

The tracking display, a dedicated processor, has been added to the navigation, tracking, and communication (NTC) system. The tracking sybsystem of the NTC is an acoustic locator of underwater targets. The slant range, the surface bounce range, and two reception delay times are produced by the range and delay processor by measuring the time delay between reception of a target transmitted pulse. The tracking display calculates the horizontal range, bearing, and depth of the target from this data. A description is given of both the hardware and software involved in the computations along with user instructions and schematics. (Modified author abstract)
