Air Cooled Protective Suit (Descriptive Title),

Abstract

A brief report discusses a suit created by the staff members of the laboratory of the Heat-Engineering Department of the Kuybyshev Aviation Institute; it is designed for those who must work for a long period of time in high temperatures (up to 80C). It is equipped with a vortical cooler connected to a compressed air source which, after cooling to 15-20 degrees, is fed to a system of hoses sewn into the suit. Tests have shown great effectiveness in welding operations inside storage tanks during hot climactic conditions. The cooling apparatus is simple and reliable in operation and weighs 700 grams in all.
