Feasibility Study of Consolidating Manufacturing Facilities for Electrical Harness Rebuild at Red River Army Depot.

Abstract

The study is designed to propose a facility layout for a consolidated electrical wiring harness rebuild operating in Building 388, Red River Army Depot and to determine if such a facility is economically feasible. A layout was proposed from data gathered in the four harness rebuild areas in Buildings 323, 345, 421, and 422. An estimation of the costs involved in consolidating the four areas and of the savings from the proposed layout is used to determine the economical feasibility of the consolidated harness operations. From the economic feasibility study and the proposed layout, the conclusion that the four electrical wiring harness operations should not be consolidated was drawn. (Author)
