Status of Interactive Graphics, Hardware and Software.

Abstract

The Management Information Systems Directorate has the responsibility of developing the interactive graphics (IG) facility as a viable design tool for Picatinny Arsenal's computer complex. Consequently, the Directorate regularly reports to the scientific and engineering community on the status of graphics hardware and software. Such a report was presented as an Arsenal slide seminar in April 1974. This report contains the prints of the original slides, augmented with the text of the seminar. All of the computer programs described are working, checked-out production codes and the personnel in the photographs were all intimately involved with the application programs' development. Picatinny's present computer center features two large scale host digital computers (CDC 6500 and DCD 6600) supporting dual networks of remote batch and teletypewriter terminals and a remote CDC 1700/274 Interactive Graphics facility.
