Study of Neutron Angular Distributions from the 9Be(d,n)10B Reaction.

Abstract

The 9Be(d,n)10B reaction has been studied extensively in order to gain detailed information on the structure of the neutron energy spectrum from this neutron-source reaction. The present scattering facilities in the neutron room are well suited for the detection of neutrons from (d,n) reactions with an optimum experimental resolution. The (d,n) reaction has also been studied in order to test capabilities of the existing direct-reaction computer codes for analyses of neutron inelastic-scattering data. The results and information gained from this study will be used directly in the analysis of (3He,n) reactions which were also studied in support of the neutron cross-section program at this laboratory.
