Perceptions of Discrimination in Non-Judicial Punishment

Abstract

Non-judicial punishment is frequently the target of charges of racial discrimination which are difficult to refute because the data needed for documentation are largely unrecorded. The purposes of this study were to determine whether existing records indicate that non-judicial punishment is administered without regard to race and if blacks and whites perceive discrimination in discipline, job assignments and advancement opportunity.
