Northill Air Lung,

Abstract

The pre-production air lung was evaluated for it's ability to sustain easy breathing under simulated 0.88-knot swimming conditions at a depth of 150 feet. It was found suitable for use as a shallow-water swimming and diving unit for surface durations up to two hours and for depths to 150 feet, subject to the following comments: (1) The mouthpiece assembly may require modifications for comfort. (2) The air reserve lanyard needs redesigning to prevent accidental release of the valve. (Modified author abstract)
