Container Cardboard with Improved Performance Characteristics,

Abstract

A cardboard container from corrugated and uniform paste board is being manufactured for packing of different kinds of commodities and articles. Containers from ordinary cardboard of the type mentioned do not hold up to use in high (95-98%) humidity and large changes in air temperature. To impart durability to the cardboard under the above conditions the pulp is treated with special substances or protective coatings are applied to the surface of the cardboard. The manufacturing technology is described of different types of container cardboard having the ability to protect packed commodities and manufactured articles in mixed climatic conditions. These are -- a moisture resistant uniform paste board (for secondary packaging); a uniform paste board with a one or two-sided polyethylene coating and a corrugated cardboard with one-side polyethylene coating.
