Biological Activity of N-Monalkylamides of Alkyl Methylphosphonates,

Abstract

Monoalkylamides of alkyl methylphosphonates are colorless, odorless liquids, readily soluble in water and organic solvents, which show promise as insecticides. To determine toxicity parameters and the clinical signs of poisoning, several of these compounds were subcutaneously injected into white mice and rats. The relation between toxicity and variations in functional groups and molecular structure was investigated. The effect of these substances on Cholinesterase activity was also studies.
