Reliability of Liquid-Metal Induction MHD Machines,

Abstract

General descriptions of liquid-metal induction MHD machines and their fields of use are given. Theoretical calculations of MHD machine reliability, including apriori estimates of 'wear' reliability and parametric reliability, as well as numerical estimates of MHD generator and electromagnetic pump reliability in the planning stages, are presented and discussed. The book is concluded with general questions on MHD machine reliability, including a possible program of testing reliability, economics, strength, spot tests of elements, accelerated tests and considerable tabular data.
