Determination of Aerosol Droplet Size Spectrum by Means of Deposition on a Thin Filament,

Abstract

A method for determining the distribution function of droplets by size is proposed based on the collection of droplets on a thin hydrophobic filament. The advantage of this method over others is that the placement of a filament on a thin addition, filament collection of the droplets is based on the 'contact' effect such that the creation of a high velocity flow is not necessary. Finally, since during deposition on a thin hydrophobic filament, droplets maintain a spherical shape, it is not necessary to additionally determine the conversion coefficients.
