Production Engineering Measure for an Integrated Power Switch (IPS).

Abstract

The report covers the effort expended and performance achieved in the establishment of a production capability for a universally applicable switching component for use in precision power-conversion equipment. The universal application of the Integrated Power Switch (IPS) is assured by signal input requirements compatible with popular DTL or TTL logic, two separate power switch sections isolated by optical coupling from the input signals, internal protection from the most common equipment-failure modes, and a usable frequency range from continuous operation to 10 kHz.
