Cryogenic Transfer Hoses: Heat Leak Tests.

Abstract

The steady state heat leak into six commercially produced cryogenic transfer hoses was determined by filling the hoses with liquid nitrogen and measuring the volumetric rate of flow of nitrogen gas evolved from the hoses. All hoses performed better than specification at approximately 60% of the target figure. The smaller diameter light-weight hoses showed slightly poorer results than the rest of the hoses, but were much easier to handle.
