Equivalence of Two Criteria for Optimal Closed-Loop Control.

Abstract

A family of optimal closed-loop control processes was defined, and two definitions of optimality were considered for this family. The two definitions are equivalent provided the admissible closed-loop controls satisfy a certain closure property. As a consequence of this equivalence, it suffices to compare candidates for optimality with admissible controls on a global rather than a pointwise basis. (Author)
