Problems of Astronomy and Geodesy Discussed at the Plenum of the Central Council of UAGS,

Abstract

This article discusses the papers read, discussions held, and resolutions made at the plenary session of the Central Council of the All-Union Astronomical and Geodesic Society. Topics include: seismic disturbance which has caused settling in Azerbaidjan; the construction of a subway in Baku; increased educational facilities for geodesic study; plans to build planetariums and observatories; and astronomical observations at Shemahinsky observatory.
