Infrared Radiation Receivers,

Abstract

The physical principles and designs of contemporary thermal and photoelectric IR detectors are reviewed. Their parameters are discussed, including various forms of noise, conversion ratio, time constant, threshold sensitivity, detecting ability. The effects of cooling are discussed and comparison of various detector types is made. Certain applications are reviewed.
