Hydrogen-Nickel Regenerative Fuel Cells.

Abstract

Tyco Laboratories designed, built, and tested six 50-Ahr Ni-H2 cells to determine the applicability of the Ni-H2 system as electrical energy storage device for satellites. Five Ni-H2 cells were of boiler plate design and one cell was a demountable quasi-light weight unit. Electrochemical components of the final design were successfully pretested in demountable 10 Ahr cells for 800 cycles. Results are discussed. (Modified author abstract)
