Representation of Information in the Design-Construction Process.

Abstract

In this report, an information state oriented representation of the design-construction process was presented. The representation allows for the efficient processing of hierarchial tree-type information structure, but at the same time it permits ready interaction between the data base and project activities through the concept of source and destination indexes. Finally, the concept of permanence levels was introduced to distinguish between sets of data at various stages of the design process. It was shown that the representation presented permits a consistent format, which has at least as much information content and management control potential as the more customary activity-oriented presentation.
