Development of a Miniaturized Dye Laser.

Abstract

The objective of this program is to develop a miniaturized dye laser suitable for a variety of applications, particularly in an underwater environment. Emphasis to date has been placed on the following tasks: evaluation of pump cavity configurations; investigation of increased flashlamp input energy; testing of various dyes in aqueous solutions. This report presents a summary of the results of these investigations, followed by a brief outline of plans for continuing work in the next reporting period.
