Control System for Advanced Plasma Energy and Propulsion Source.

Abstract

An ion beam probe has been used to measure the density, space potential and electron temperature in a hollow cathode arc and the results compared with Langmuir probe measurements. Feedback stabilization of a coherent instability, using an amplitude modulated carrier frequency that is inductively coupled to the plasma, has been demonstrated. (Author)
