Instrument Landing System Improvement Program: Environmental Study of the 200 Foot Aperture Slotted Cable Localizer Antenna Array.

Abstract

Results of an experimental program to determine the operational stability of the 200 ft. aperture course array of the Watts Prototype Company's slotted cable localizer array are presented. Particular attention is given to those times when snow, ice, wind, and thunderstorms existed. Maximum course deviations of 2 microamperes were found with the far-field and integral course monitor. Generally the course held within 1 microampere and the width 2 microamperes. (Author)
