Input-Output Interfaces for the D17B Bus-Structured I/O System.

Abstract

The Autonetics D17B guidance and control computer has been the subject of much study by the Electrical Engineering Department of the Air Force Institute of Technology. This special-purpose processor has been converted into a general-purpose minicomputer with a bus-structured I/O system. This report presents designs for peripheral interfaces which further expand the capabilities of the D17B system. A general interface design is presented to assist readers in implementing their own interfaces. Then, the complete logic design of interfaces for a Model 33 Teletype, two paper tape readers, and a high-speed paper tape punch unit are presented. (Modified author abstract)
