Machine Translation of Morse Code Using a Microprocessor.

Abstract

This paper describes the implementation of a recognition algorithm for hand-sent Morse code on an Intel SIM 8-01 microcomputer. The algorithm used is one which was written and implemented on a Digital Equipment Corporation PDP-12 computer. Design procedures are presented for interfacing the Morse code signal and an ASR-33 teletype to the SIM 8-01. The input interface measures the time duration of each audio burst and its succeeding space for the translation program. The translation program is discussed. (Modified author abstract)
