The Capacity of Man to Estimate Probability Characteristics of Alternative Stimuli,

Abstract

At the most varied levels of human activity, predicting for the future is a most important condition for certain activity. Prediction simulation of a situation ensures the possibility of general and partial psychophysiological structures which realize programming of action systems directed toward achieving goals under expected conditions. It is understandable that the effectiveness of preliminary programming of activity will depend to a great extent upon the accuracy and completeness of the model of the future situation in which one will act.
