Underground Cable Systems in Permafrost Soil,

Abstract

The booklet describes the results of many years of experience with underground cables in the far North in the territory of Vorkuta to Magadan. Discussed are various aspects of laying cables and evaluating them, the seasonal nature of cable work and methods of working with frozen soil, the influence of the heat given off by the cables on the frozen condition of the soil, as well as methods of carrying out frozen-soil tests to find appropriate cable routes. Recommendations are given for carrying out the task of laying the cables.
