Underground Ammunition Storage: Model Test to Investigate the Strength and Effectiveness of a Selfclosing Concrete Block. Test V,

Abstract

A series of model tests (linear scale 1:50) was carried out to investigate the effectiveness of a selfclosing concrete block to reduce the damage caused by accidental explosions in underground ammunition storage sites. These model tests were performed in conjunction with a full scale test in Alvdalen, Sweden, during the spring of 1973, to check the validity of scaling.
