Studies of Monochromatic, Quasi-Monochromatic and Broadband Imaging Techniques - A Generalized Imaging Integral.

Abstract

This report contains a development of a general imaging integral including relative motion between the source and the receiving point. This integral provides a unifying basis from which all the previous results on monochromatic, quasi-monochromatic and broadband imaging can be derived. In fact, this report develops a generalized integral relating either cross-spectral density or cross-variance between a pair of field points remote from the radiating body to an equivalent measure between pairs of points on the body when relative motion is involved. These relationships will be shown to involve a conjugated pair of Green's transfer-functions or impulse-functions, respectively; depending upon whether spectral density or covariance is used as a measure.
