United States Navy Physiological Telemetry System Operation and Maintenance Manual.

Abstract

A single channel, 2 pound, belt worn telemetry system that conveys heart rate and core temperature information up to at least a mile without loss of signal integrity and accuracy is described. The system includes two single channel transmitters (Motorola HT-220 Handie-Talkie), a Receiver Station containing two matching receivers, two office type cassette recorders, and signal conditioning to provide data storage and direct digital readout of core temperature and heart rate on two remotely located test subjects. The Receiver Station is portable, powered by a 12 volt automobile battery and is designed to be operated by field personnel with little or no medical training. (Modified author abstract)
