Flight and Taxi Data from A-37B Aircraft during Combat and Training Operations. Volume III: Weapon Passes Data.
Abstract
As the third volume of a three-volume report, this document presents statistical data on 1,954 weapon passes performed by A-37B aircraft. The data was recorded during training operations under an 80 percent load restriction at England AFB, Louisiana, from May to November 1969; combat operations at Bien Hoa AB, Vietnam, from November 1969 to October 1970; and training operations with no restriction at England AFB from November 1970 to September 1971. For Volume III, the dive and climb angles associated with each weapon delivery were computed. Airspeed, altitude, gross weight, fuel weight, pitch rate, roll rate, and normal load factor (nz) values were extracted from the data at the nz peak during each weapon delivery. Sample means and standard deviations, 95th and 99.9th percentiles, and tolerance limits were computed for the peak nz values. (Modified author abstract)
