An Exploration into the Practices of DCAS Industrial Specialists in Obtaining Contractor Production Information on High Priority, Medium Value Contracts,

Abstract

There are well-defined procedures for monitoring high priority, high value contracts, but no standard procedure for monitoring high priority, medium value contracts ($2500 -C/SCSC threshold). This study addresses the processes and methods used to conduct contract surveillance on high priority, medium value contracts. The study explored (1) the problems perceived by DCAS Industrial Specialists (ISs) that hinder their obtaining contractor production data, (2) what contractor production data is normally obtained by DCAS ISs, and (3) what data items are perceived by DCAS ISs as being available.
