Experimental Comparison of Buried and Mixed Source Ground Roughness Residual Radiation Models.

Abstract

The overall objective of this project was to develop and test radiological countermeasures that are applicable to post-nuclear-attack recovery operations. The specific objective of the work reported herein was to measure the direct and scattered components of radiation exposure from buried and mixed source models postulating the shielding effects of ground roughness, and to compare the results with available Monte Carlo calculations.
