Studies on Experimental Friction Blisters. II. A Device to Produce and Measure Friction Blistering.

Abstract

The earliest moment of irreversible blister formation and of complete blister cleft formation in man's skin are graphically displayed by a new friction blister machine. The forces involved to produce the intraepidermal blisters are quantitated. The cost of parts and materials (less the recorder) is about $300.00. Approximately 200 hours for design, machining, and testing are required. (Author)
