Suppressive Shielding of Hazardous Ammunition Operations,

Abstract

The feasibility of constructing explosion effects suppression shields has been demonstrated on a full scale test basis. This type of shield can provide a highly attractive alternative to fixed conventional reinforced concrete barricades and shelters in ammunition processing plants. They potentially can be used to provide added protection against loss of life and property while ammunition is being shipped, stored, demilitarized, or disposed.
