Computer Simulation of Fabricational Tolerances for Multilayer Optical Coatings,

Abstract

Frankford Arsenal is engaged in the research, development, and manufacture of fire control systems. Items, such as optical sights, ranfefinders, telescopes, and other optical instruments form the fire control support for tanks, helicopters, mortars, and many other weapons. This paper describes a technique for predicting realistic tolerances for the numerous types of multilayer optical coatings used in fire control systems.
