An Electronic Thermometer for Use in Aeromedical Airlift.

Abstract

A digital electronic thermometer was selected to provide aeromedical personnel with a device safer, more sanitary, and more efficient than the mercury-in-glass clinical thermometer. Specifications required the item to be a lightweight portable unit offering a safe, sanitary, accurate, and efficient means of taking patient's temperatures in-flight. The evaluations indicated the digital electronic thermometer with a special electromagnetic-interference-suppression case was satisfactory for operational use in aeromedical evacuation. (Author)
