Calculation of the Effective Range of Night Vision Devices,

Abstract

A method is proposed for calculating the effective range of night vision devices. A formula is derived which can be used to calculate the effective range of night vision devices from the known structural parameters of the device and the characteristics of the illuminating device which takes into account the spectral transmission of the atmosphere, the effect of the resulting power of the instrument together with the eye and the contrast in the image.
