Ruggedized Plasma Panel.

Abstract

The report is part of an overall effort to develop a reliable, fully qualified, flat panel, gas discharge display console to survive and operate in a hostile environment such as encountered in field or airborne command and control systems. The specific objective of this portion of the overall effort is to redesign the panel driving electronic system of the Owens-Illinois, Incorporated commercial DIGIVUE model 512-60 Display/Memory Unit. This report contains the engineering grade documentation and analysis accomplishing this task. The specific objectives of the electronic ruggedization have been accomplished. Analysis and breadboard tests indicate that the display unit will operate with good margins over the temperature range of -20 to +55C continuously and with intermittent operation of up to 30 minutes at 71C.
