Remote Control of a Network of Major Lights.

Abstract

The paper is the final report on the installation of a system for the remote COntrol and Monitoring of the major Aids to Navigation ('COMAND' System) in Coast Guard Group, Eaton's Neck, which consists of six stations in Long Island Sound, located about 50 miles east of New York City. This report contains a description of the system as built, as well as some information on cost and reliability experience. Also, some opinion as to possible changes and improvements to be included in the design of future installations has been included. The basic report is rather general as to the details of construction, etc. Detailed information appears in the appendices or in the appropriate manufacturer's manuals.
