Change in the Magnitude of the Seismic Effect of Quarry Blasts as a Function of Various Factors,

Abstract

Certain quantitative relationships between the displacement velocity and a series of indices have been obtained as a result of studies conducted by the Ural Scientific Research and Planning Institute of the Copper Industry in quarries of the Urals and Kazakhstan. Analysis of the experimental data shows that for the same values of reduced distance, the vibration velocity may change over very wide limits and depends chiefly on the properties of the rocks.
