Low Profile Concrete Mixer.

Abstract

The requirements and specifications for a low-profile, diesel-engine-powered concrete mixer were developed and a prototype unit was designed and built. The unit can be loaded into a C-130 or a C-123B aircraft without dismantling, is stable when towed, has a water meter instead of a water tank, has a hydraulic system to replace the cable hoist, and has a hydraulic vibrator instead of shaker cams. The unit has performed well under tests and during in-service tests to date. (Modified author abstract)
