Two Electronics Research Establishments in the USSR,

Abstract

A report is made on visits to several electronics facilities and research institutes in the USSR as a component of the cultural and scientific exchange program between the US and the Soviet Union. The IEEE and the Popov Society were the technical institutions involved. An attempt is made to provide an overview of portions of the programs of the Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Moscow, and of the Institute of Semiconductor Physics, Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Siberian Branch, Akademgorodok.
