Special Purpose Water Safety Buoyant Devices.

Abstract

The standard supplements U. S. Coast Guard Subpart 160.064, Chapter I, Title 46, Code of Federal Regulations. The requirements in Section 2 apply to the design, performance characteristics, and construction of buoyant jackets, vests, cushions, ring buoys and other special purpose buoyant devices suitable for general use aboard motorboats of Classes A, 1, or 2 not carrying passengers for hire, and accepted as excess equipment on all other motorboats. The evaluation procedures outlined in Sections 3 and 4 may vary according to the material and type of device.
