Operation ACCORDION.

Abstract

On 21 April 1962 a marker buoy was established on Ocean Station CHARLIE completing the first phase of Operation ACCORDION. The following comments regarding this operation are noted: Preparations; Navigation; Launching of the buoy; Position of the buoy; Station keeping on the buoy; Buoy's radar target; Service to Federal Aviation Agency aircraft; Service to other doppler aircraft; LORAN 'A' check.
