Kerosene Type Aviation Turbine Fuel Properties Survey.

Abstract

A survey was conducted to determine the physical properties, and particularly the thermal stabilities, of kerosene type commercial jet fuels produced by refineries throughout the world. The fuels were evaluated on the American Society for Testing and Materials-Coordinating Research Council (ASTM-CRC) Fuel Coker (Coker), Jet Fuel Thermal Oxidation Tester (JFTOT), and MINEX III thermal stability test devices. The average failure temperatures of the fuels are 369, 543, and the 510F for the Coker JFTOT, and MINEX III test devices, respectively. The physical properties of the fuels are documented.
