A Model of Masking by Terrain Applied to Visual Observation.

Abstract

A simulation of masking by terrain, as applied to visual observation is described in detail. Basically the model generates the trajectory of a light ray from an observer to an observed point, examines the terrain at specified intervals along the trajectory, and determines if, and where, the light ray trajectory is masked by terrain.
