Probability of Events under Constraints - An Algorithm,

Abstract

The following problem is addressed: first, making a probability statement concerning the occurrence of an event, and then, revising this probability in the presence of additional information when there may exist constraints among the elements characterizing the event. An algorithm for automatic evaluation using Boolean algebra and symbol manipulation techniques is presented. (Author)
