Abstract

The report describes an effort by the authors to locate, characterize, and evaluate a number of commercially available computer software packages for data management. The effort grew out of a need to select a suitable data management system to serve as a foundation for an information system supporting the Health Insurance Study (HIS) being conducted by the Rand Corporation and supported by OEO.
