Sensitization of the Photoconductivity and Photo emf of Heavy Metal Azides Colored by Organic Dyes,

Abstract

In order to study the dark transition of electrons between substrate and adsorbed dye, as well as the mechanism of optical sensitization of lead, silver and thallium azides colored by organic dyes, the authors measured their photoconductivity and photo emf. Since the sensitization of heavy metal azides has virtually never been studied before, studies were conducted with typical photographic dyes: thiocarbocyanine, indocarbocyanine, imidocarbodyanine, 3, 3'-diethylthiazolinocarbocyanine, iodide, 3, 3'-diethyloxacarbocyanine iodide, 3, 3'-di (beta-oxyethyl)-9-methyl-thiocarbocyanine chloride, 3,3'-di (oxy-ethyl)-9-ethy-5, 5'-dimethoxythiocarbocyanine chloride, sodium eosin, erythrosine, cryptocyanine and trypaflavine.
